Episode 22: The Voter Suppression Crisis
A belated Happy Juneteenth to all! This week, the boys dive into the voter suppression crisis happening throughout the U.S. with all the recent biased Supreme Court decisions, both at the federal and state levels, allowing Republicans to reshape districts while denying Democrats the same. Decisions that directly target and will most deeply impact black voters and politicians.
All of which closely mirrors the past sixteen years in Hungary, under the one party, right wing, fascist rule of Victor Orban, who was finally ousted from power when the people of Hungary came together and came out to vote in record numbers.
Hungary has given us the roadmap to defeat autocratic rule by a right wing fascist, but will America bother to read that map?
But first, the cast catches up on sports stories we've missed out on from the NBA, NFL, baseball, and the World Cup!
This episode was originally recorded on May 9th, and technical issues have kept us from uploading over the last few weeks. While some of the information may be slightly dated, it's also still relevant and still important!
